Different Types of Cleaning Solution

Cleaning solution is a major component of liquid cleaner formulas. It performs several functions that make cleaners effective.

Like surfactants, it dissolves soils by loosening them and keeping the loosened dirt suspended in the cleaning solution. This keeps dirt 매트리스청소업체 from redepositing onto the clean surface.

Chelators are substances that surround unwanted metal ions and prevent them from reacting with surfactants. This helps cleaners remove stains from metal surfaces.

All-Purpose Cleaner

An all-purpose cleaner is a multipurpose cleaning solution. It contains a combination of surfactants that help to release stuck on gunk and often contains ingredients that kill germs, such as quaternary ammonium compounds, pine oil, phenol derivatives, or aldehydes.

They can effectively wipe surface fingerprints and light stains, and are safe to use on most surfaces in the home. Always check the product label to make sure that it is safe for your specific surface, and test the cleaner on a small inconspicuous area first to ensure that it will not damage or discolor the surface.

Our all-purpose cleaning spray is available in a ready to use formula or as a Just Add Water concentrate. Use on all kitchen hard non-porous surfaces, including granite, stainless steel, and tile. For best results, wipe dry with an Organic Flour Sack Towel for a streak-free shine.

Bleach

Bleach is a fast-acting disinfectant, killing germs and bacteria. It contains a chemical, sodium hypochlorite, that denatures proteins in microorganisms and destroys them. Diluted bleach works on a variety of surfaces and fabrics, including stainless steel, plastics, glazed ceramics and glass.

It disinfects and cleans contaminated surfaces in facilities, hospitals, schools, restaurants and homes. It can also remove mold, mildew and stains from clothing and food items.

Bleach is highly potent and should always be diluted. When it is used straight from the bottle, it can burn skin and irritate eyes and lungs. A solution of nine parts water to one part bleach is suitable for cleaning. It is important to rinse surfaces and fabrics completely after using bleach, as it can leave a residue.

Mild Alkali

A mild alkaline solution is any with a pH above 7 but not extremely high, and that has a higher concentration of hydroxide ions than hydrogen ions. Examples of mild alkalis include lyes, hair-relaxing agents, nonphosphate detergents and dishwasher soaps, disk batteries, and household bleach. Mild alkaline pretreatments offer benefits over organosolv processes in terms of operational temperature requirements and simpler equipment. They also provide the potential for simultaneous recovery of hemicellulose and lignin fractions.

Ammonia

Ammonia is a colorless gas that becomes a liquid solution when mixed with water. It’s often found in household cleaning products at concentrations of 5 to 10% ammonia. In industrial settings, ammonia is used in the manufacture of plastics, explosives, textiles, pesticides and dyes.

Wash tiled surfaces and kill mildew by sponging on a mixture of 1 tablespoon ammonia, 2 tablespoons vinegar and 1 gallon (3.8 litres) water. Wipe and rinse well. Make sure to wear gloves, as ammonia can irritate skin and eyes. Use a diluted mixture to deodorize garbage pails and prevent raccoons from raiding your compost or recycling bins by spraying the inside of the containers with 1/2 cup ammonia diluted with 1 gallon (3.8 litres) of water. Rinse the container and lids and leave the bins open to air-dry.

Vinegar

Vinegar is a pantry staple that can help clean almost anything in the house, from food spills and stuck-on foods to hard water stains and even mold. Its cleaning capabilities come from its acetic acid content, which slows bacteria growth.

The tangy liquid has been around for more than 10,000 years, used as a cooking and flavoring agent and a natural preservative. It also has a number of purported health benefits, though more research is needed for some.

Vinegar has many uses in the kitchen, including deglazing pans, cleaning jars and cutting boards, polishing silver and removing pit stains from fruit. It also works as an insect salve and repellent, weed killer, brick enhancer, pet ear cleaner, glass cleaner and deodorizer. Clear vinegar typically contains 4% to 7% acetic acid and 93-96% water. It is safe to use on most surfaces, but can damage porous materials like marble and limestone.
